Carving out hidden beauty I really like working with wood, but am apparently incapable of finding good tools, or the time to use them.. so there are only few pieces, most of which are in the process since years and still not done. Mostly, with carving, I try to follow the structure provided by the material and let it guide me - it is not very obvious in the results, but there is no previous plan about what to make out of the pieces (except a tendency to follow my obsession with faces), and the results are largely based on what was present in the respective piece already. I try to merely help it show itself (or so I wish).. |
